Seeking an experienced banking & finance lawyer to join a flexible legal-resourcing team supporting major corporate and financial services clients. The role is consulting/contract-focused with hybrid working options and offers exposure to complex finance transactions, debt trading, restructuring and regulatory work.

Day-to-day work includes negotiating and drafting finance and derivative documentation (including ISDA), advising on insolvency and restructuring implementations, supporting retail migration and product-build compliance, and managing regulatory and commercial risk. The role requires someone who can work autonomously, hit the ground running and collaborate with external advisers where needed.

  • Minimum 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience in banking & finance/financial services
  • Proven transactional experience across complex finance structures, secondary debt trading and restructuring/insolvency processes
  • Practical experience with derivatives and ISDA negotiation and documentation
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. Corporations Act, ASIC obligations, Banking Code, Privacy/ePayments) and experience advising on DDO and customer communications
  • Ability to advise on product builds, T&Cs, TSAs and manage regulatory/commercial risk
  • Right to live and work in Australia and ability to hold/obtain a current practising certificate
  • Willingness to engage via an incorporated legal practice or on casual/contract terms
