Apply in confidence →A 12-month, full-time contract for an Advisor / Legal Advisor to join a global firm's Client Commitments team in Australia. The role sits within Risk & Compliance and focuses on review and negotiation of client-facing contracts and engagement terms, supporting partners and fee-earners on client commitments and compliance queries.
The position is hybrid and will support the firm's Australia offices (Sydney or Brisbane), working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistency in contractual positions, responses to audits and remediation, and business readiness for compliance changes.
This is a commercially minded advisory role that combines hands-on contract negotiation with practical risk and compliance guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Law degree and admission in the relevant Australian jurisdiction.
- Demonstrable experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, engagement letters and outside counsel/client terms.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; comfortable advising partners and fee‑earners and attending negotiation meetings as required.
- Sound commercial judgement, problem‑solving ability and discretion handling confidential matters.
- Experience in compliance, risk management or in‑house legal advisory work is advantageous.
