Commercial and Restructuring Litigation Associate — New York

Established international law firm seeks a commercial and restructuring litigation associate to join its New York litigation team. The role focuses on complex restructuring and commercial disputes, working closely with financial restructuring and special situations groups on matters involving distressed companies.

Responsibilities include handling all phases of litigation in federal district, bankruptcy and state courts (including New York and Delaware): drafting and responding to pleadings, managing discovery, supporting motion practice, and assisting at trial and on appeal. This position is required to work in person in the New York office.

• 2–6 years of commercial litigation experience, including restructuring/bankruptcy litigation
• Experience litigating in federal district courts, bankruptcy courts and state courts (NY and DE experience preferred)
• Proven ability with drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials and appeals
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Stellar academic credentials and prior comparable law firm experience
• Ability to work onsite in New York and to collaborate across restructuring and special situations teams
