An established global law firm's flexible legal-resourcing team is appointing an experienced privacy lawyer on a consulting basis to work within an in-house legal function. The role sits at the intersection of technology and data protection and will support strategic priorities across the business.

Typical work will include advising on UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), conducting and advising on DPIAs and data subject rights, supporting privacy aspects of marketing/AdTech and cookies, and reviewing data protection elements of commercial and SaaS agreements. You will also provide input on complex initiatives such as Generative AI from a data-protection perspective.

This is a flexible consulting opportunity offering varied short- and medium-term engagements, working closely with senior stakeholders and in-house teams to deliver pragmatic, commercially-focused privacy advice.

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister entitled to practise in the UK with sufficient PQE for in-house advisory work
  • Demonstrable technical expertise advising on complex privacy and data-protection matters (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act, DPIAs, data subject rights)
  • Experience advising on marketing/PECR, AdTech/cookie issues and on data aspects of commercial/SaaS agreements; experience with AI/Generative AI projects advantageous
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative in-house environments; strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
