A major international law firm’s legal consulting platform is seeking experienced banking & finance lawyers to join its Australia panel on a flexible consulting basis. Assignments are varied — from in‑house secondments and project roles to short‑term engagements supporting firm deal teams — and typically range from a few weeks to several months.

The role suits self‑directed senior associates or counsel with strong technical experience in corporate finance, derivatives (including OTC regulatory work), structured/leveraged finance, financial markets compliance, funds or project/infrastructure finance. Consultants receive dedicated support from the platform’s consultant management team and access to firm resources, training and networking opportunities while retaining the flexibility of a consultancy arrangement.

Right to work and reside in Australia with unrestricted admission to practice in Australia
Minimum of 4 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with exposure to top‑tier law firms, banks or corporates (including secondee experience)
Demonstrable technical experience in one or more of: corporate finance, derivatives/OTC regulation, structured/leveraged finance, financial markets compliance, funds or project/infrastructure finance
Self‑starter comfortable working as a consultant or via an independent legal practice; strong client service, communication and commercial awareness
