This role is for self-directed consultants who want a mix of in-house and advisory assignments, supporting clients or law firm teams on discrete projects.
Work will focus on commercial technology and procurement matters including SaaS and cloud agreements, AI and data/software licences, cybersecurity and privacy compliance, tech-related M&A diligence, fintech/ecommerce matters and related IP issues. Assignments typically range from a few weeks to several months and are often structured part-time.
Successful consultants receive dedicated panel support, access to practice resources and training, and opportunities to build a varied consulting practice while retaining flexibility over engagements.
- Qualified and admitted to practise in Australia with unrestricted entitlement to work and reside in Australia
- Minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience, preferably with experience at a top-tier law firm, major financial institution or in-house legal team
- Strong technical background in technology contracts, data protection/privacy and cybersecurity law
- Proven ability to operate autonomously on client engagements, excellent communication skills and strong commercial judgement
- Willingness to engage as a casual/consulting legal resource and availability for flexible assignment patterns
