Senior construction and infrastructure lawyer opportunity to work on six-month-plus consulting assignments across Australia and the Middle East. Roles cover front-end projects, project delivery and finance, project documentation, due diligence and project-related M&A across transport, water, waste, energy and PPPs.

Assignments will involve advising governments, developers, contractors and investors; drafting and negotiating construction, services and maintenance contracts; and providing commercial and regulatory guidance. Some roles will be based in or require regular travel to the UAE or Saudi Arabia; visa support is available for certain locations.

The role is offered via a global legal consulting platform backed by a major international firm, giving access to professional support, knowledge resources and development opportunities while working on client-facing assignments.

  • Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience in construction, projects or infrastructure law
  • Qualified to practise in Australia with an unrestricted practising certificate or able to obtain one; right to work/reside in Australia
  • Experience advising on large-scale public or private projects (transport, utilities, energy, PPPs) and negotiating construction/maintenance/service contracts
  • Project structuring, delivery and project finance experience desirable; renewable energy experience highly regarded
  • Comfortable working as a consultant/casual employee or via an independent legal practice; willingness to travel or relocate for Middle East assignments
  • Strong commercial acumen, client-facing skills, and ability to operate in multi-jurisdictional, multi-disciplinary project teams
