Short-term contract (initial 6 months) for a Senior Associate-level contract lawyer to join a public inquiries, inquests and public law team in London. The role is full-time, office-based and paid on a day-rate via an umbrella provider, with potential for extension.

Fee-earning responsibilities will include supporting statutory and non-statutory inquiries, conducting internal investigations and independent reviews, advising on public law challenges and judicial review risk, and assisting with large-scale disclosure and information-management exercises. The post will involve witness preparation, drafting and supervising document-heavy review processes, and project management across multiple workstreams.

Applicants must meet security/residency requirements for current inquiries and will be expected to work on-site in the London office for the duration of the assignment.

  • Qualified solicitor (SRA or Law Society registered)
  • Minimum c.2 years' litigation experience
  • Proven experience of managing large-scale disclosure/e-disclosure or complex multi-strand litigation projects
  • Strong public law experience, including exposure to judicial review and national security-related litigation
  • Good project-management skills and ability to supervise and develop junior team members
  • Must have resided in the UK for at least five years and be available for full-time office attendance in London
