The Opportunity

A leading electricity organisation is seeking an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer to join its legal team on a three-month full-time engagement, based in Brisbane with hybrid working arrangements.

About You

You are an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with at least three years’ post-qualification experience, bringing a strong track record from either private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.

Your Experience & Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience providing legal support across a broad range of commercial, corporate and contractual matters in an in-house or private practice environment
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including procurement, supply, services, technology, operations and project-related contracts
  • Proven ability to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice on day-to-day operational and strategic matters
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, compliance and regulatory obligations applicable to large organisations
  • Experience identifying and mitigating legal, commercial and operational risks while enabling business objectives and project outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering closely with executives, project teams and operational stakeholders
  • Experience preparing clear and concise legal advice, reports, contract documentation and decision-making materials
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance legal risk against business and operational considerations
  • Experience within the energy, infrastructure, utilities or resources sectors would be advantageous but is not essential
