Our client, a premier global law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate to join their highly regarded Environment & Planning practice in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading team that advises major corporate clients, developers, infrastructure providers, industry, and government on a diverse range of planning and environmental matters.

In this role, you will handle a mix of litigation, advisory, and transactional work focusing on planning law, including planning approvals, major project approvals, planning agreements, land acquisition, and due diligence. You will also have the chance to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the continued success of the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of planning and environmental matters, including proceedings before the Planning and Environment Court.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on planning approvals, major projects, and compliance.
  • Draft and review agreements, submissions, and court documents.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior lawyers on complex transactions and disputes.
  • Supervise and mentor Associates, Lawyers, and Graduates.

About you:

  • At least 5 years’ PQE gained in a reputable Environment & Planning practice.
  • Strong experience in conducting proceedings, particularly in the Planning and Environment Court.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including strong drafting ability.
  • A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Strong academic credentials.
