Opportunity for an experienced Costs Lawyer/Draftsperson to join a growing national litigation team in London. The role involves preparing Bills of Costs for detailed and provisional assessment, litigating bills through the court process and providing technical support to fee-earners. Advocacy at court may be required as agreed.

You will work directly with clients to take instructions and provide advice, contribute to training junior team members and support wider case delivery. The team offers a collaborative, inclusive environment with flexible working approaches and a range of employee wellbeing benefits.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience drafting costs, either in-house or for an external provider
  • Knowledge of court procedures relating to costs, including detailed/provisional assessment
  • Proven competence with legal IT systems and time recording
  • Strong written and verbal communication and professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Desirable: legal/financial qualifications (e.g. ACL, ILEX) or prior experience within legal departments
  • Open to consideration of trainee costs draftsperson candidates
