Experienced costs specialist needed to lead a national costs function aligned to medical negligence work. You will manage a small team of trainees, costs draftsmen and costs lawyers, overseeing preparation of Bills of Costs, court pleadings and technical guidance on complex costs matters.

The role is a key liaison with senior litigation stakeholders to ensure service standards, recovery outcomes and timely delivery across high-value and complex personal injury/clinical negligence cases. You will champion continuous improvement, quality control and operational planning within a hybrid working environment.

Costs or legal qualification (CLSB, CILEX, SRA or BSB admission)
Proven people-leadership experience in a legal, costs or professional services setting
Solid technical experience of medical negligence or high‑value personal injury costs work
Working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules, costs budgeting and detailed assessment processes
Strong stakeholder management, organisation, attention to detail and communication skills
Experience using costs systems, time-recording and MI to support forecasting and performance is desirable
