Growing national environmental practice is seeking a partnership-track associate to join its Environmental team. The role is open in multiple U.S. offices including Richmond, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., and involves client-facing work across regulatory counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, and agency rulemaking.

The team handles precedent-setting matters and values collaboration, mentoring, and long-term client relationships. Candidates should be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to manage complex regulatory projects with excellent written and oral communication.

The firm offers a competitive compensation package (posting lists an expected salary range of $260,000 to $435,000) and a full benefits program; bar membership requirements noted below.

At least 4 years of environmental law experience (compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, litigation, or agency rulemaking)
Experience in private practice, government agency, and/or trade association work preferred
Strong written and oral communication, good judgment, responsiveness, and teamwork
Virginia bar membership preferred; required within one year of joining the firm
