Apply in confidence →Senior leadership role to run the Financial Crime and Sanctions function within the firm’s global onboarding team. You will provide strategic oversight of financial crime policy, decision-making on complex matters, and steer training, KPIs and audit engagement to maintain robust compliance and risk management.
The role leads a multi-jurisdictional team of lawyers and analysts responsible for CDD and client risk assessments, periodic review processes, policy ownership (AML, ABC, sanctions and related controls), referrals and escalations, and liaising with the MLRO community and regulators as required.
Hybrid and mobile leadership required — the role expects regular presence across UK offices (including London, Manchester, Leeds and others) and occasional international engagement to provide visible senior leadership, stakeholder engagement and implementation support.
- Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of UK financial crime and sanctions regimes and experience applying equivalent international regimes
- Proven people leader with experience managing multidisciplinary financial crime teams and driving service excellence
- Track record advising senior stakeholders and making timely, commercial decisions on complex compliance matters
- Strong skills in policy development, risk-based controls, CDD processes and SAR/MLRO support
- Practical experience with onboarding systems and third-party providers (experience with Intapp or similar desirable)
