Join a national criminal defence sub-team within a larger commercial insurance practice. The team covers a wide range of criminal investigations, prosecutions and inquests and handles serious and high‑profile matters across the UK.

This role is open to candidates to be based in Bristol or Manchester and involves managing a varied caseload, applying technical criminal and regulatory expertise, and working alongside colleagues across the national team.

There is an expectation of contributing to business development activities, including client updates, presentations and training, and supporting more junior fee‑earners as required.

1–4 years PQE in criminal defence or regulatory work
Experience defending HSE (health & safety) prosecutions preferred
Strong academic background and demonstrable technical competence in criminal/regulatory matters
Client‑facing experience, good judgement, and case management skills
Commercial awareness and willingness to support business development and internal training
Excellent communication and organisational skills
