Seeking an associate to support patent prosecution and portfolio counseling at the intersection of life sciences and advanced computing. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications and providing technical support for freedom-to-operate, validity, and patentability analyses across AI-enabled drug discovery, digital therapeutics, computational pathology, genomics, and related areas.

The position involves close collaboration with patent attorneys on prosecution, IP due diligence, portfolio management, and providing scientific expertise for licensing and litigation support. This is an on-site role split across multiple U.S. offices; candidates should be prepared for firm-office-based work.

  • Degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, biomedical engineering, systems biology, structural biology, biophysics, biomedical informatics, or a closely related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Active registration to practice before the USPTO (valid registration number required) and admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing.
  • Minimum ~1 year of prior patent prosecution experience (law firm or in-house) in science/technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more areas such as AI/ML for drug discovery, digital therapeutics/software in devices, computational pathology/image analysis, genomics/sequence analysis, or hardware/software systems for computational biology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear legal documents, attention to detail, and a team-oriented client-service approach.
