Apply in confidence →Top-tier international firm is seeking a junior-level associate to join its US Tax Controversy team. The role focuses on resolving disputes with US tax authorities at the audit and administrative appeals stages and, where necessary, litigating matters in court. The team handles a full range of tax controversy work and operates across offices in California.
The successful candidate will work on cross-border and domestic matters within a global, multidisciplinary tax practice. You will collaborate with culturally diverse teams and support both contested and pre‑litigation dispute resolution.
- 1–2 years' experience in tax controversy, tax litigation, or related tax dispute work
- Member in good standing of the California Bar (admission to the California Bar required)
- Strong analytical reasoning, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Comfort working in global, multicultural teams; excellent interpersonal skills
- Advanced tax credentials (LLM in Tax and/or CPA in‑depth tax program) are a plus
- Ability to provide a writing sample, resume, transcripts, and cover letter on request
