The group advises on strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets matters (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and real estate (including REIT) work. Associates are encouraged to think creatively about complex, high-stakes problems and to take on meaningful responsibility early.

This practice places particular emphasis on interpersonal skills and client engagement. Candidates should be enthusiastic about direct client interaction, public speaking at national tax conferences, and collaborating face-to-face with colleagues in the office.

Law school class years 2020 to 2023
Class-year appropriate understanding of technical tax law, including strong research and writing abilities
Experience with strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and/or real estate (including REIT) matters
Outstanding oral communication and analytical skills
Top academic credentials
Ability and desire to think creatively about difficult and novel problems
