Well‑established Canadian law firm is seeking an experienced lateral partner to join its corporate practice in Calgary with a focus on M&A and corporate/structured finance. The role will work across transactional matters and client relationship development, with opportunities to advise energy-sector clients.

Strong candidates from related commercial practices (including senior IP practitioners with transactional exposure) will be considered. The team is open to group moves (partner plus one or two associates) for the right fit.

Applicants should be prepared to lead matters and bring a portable practice; equity partners are preferred but exceptional candidates at other partnership levels will be considered.

Established partner with significant transactional experience in corporate/M&A and corporate finance
Ideally 5–7+ years in partner-level roles (senior partners with a demonstrable track record will also be considered)
Proven ability to originate and manage client relationships and to lead deal teams
Comfortable working on energy-sector matters; candidates from adjacent commercial practices (e.g., transactional IP) may be considered
Willingness to consider a team move (partner plus associates) where appropriate
