The role focuses on energy regulatory work (nuclear and electricity sectors) and environmental criminal defence, supporting major project development and regulatory matters across Toronto and Alberta.
The team advises on regulatory strategy before federal and provincial energy regulators and handles prosecutions and defence work under environmental statutes. The firm is seeking a partner who can contribute a sustainable, portable practice and help expand work on power generation, transmission and resource projects.
- Established partner with a proven practice in energy regulation (nuclear and/or electricity sectors) and/or environmental criminal defence.
- Track record of handling regulatory proceedings and prosecutions or defences under environmental legislation.
- Ability to bring or rapidly develop a portable, sustainable book of business; flexibility for candidates who are high‑capacity individual contributors.
- Admission to practice in the relevant Canadian province(s) and experience working on matters before federal/provincial regulators.
