Senior hire for a busy municipal law group serving public-sector and municipal clients. The role focuses on planning & development, expropriation and broader municipal litigation and advisory work. The team regularly handles municipal liability matters and related regulatory issues.

Position may be based in Ottawa or another Ontario office with an active municipal practice. The firm is seeking an experienced partner who can contribute to and lead client files; the firm is also open to very senior candidates or service partners who bring key capabilities rather than an established book. Typical onboarding is as an income partner for a period before transition to equity.

Established partner-level experience in municipal law, including planning & development and expropriation matters
Proven litigation and/or advisory track record on municipal liability and regulatory issues
Ability to lead matters and mentor associates; openness to joining an existing local team
Business development capability preferred; the firm will consider both candidates with a portable practice and senior hires who offer essential skills rather than an existing book
Willingness to join initially as an income partner with a planned path to equity
