Seeking a lateral partner to lead and expand a tax practice focused on the energy sector from the Charlotte office of a leading international law firm. The role involves advising energy companies, investors and project sponsors on federal and state tax matters, structuring transactions and supporting cross-practice deal teams.

The successful candidate will join an established team and have responsibility for business development, client relationship management and high‑value matter delivery. This is a visible role with opportunities to build a portable practice and contribute to regional and national growth initiatives.

Seat as a lateral partner with substantial tax experience, ideally including significant work for energy-sector clients.
Deep technical knowledge of federal and state tax law and transaction structuring (M&A, project finance, renewables preferred).
Proven track record of client origination and relationship management; ability to develop a portable practice is attractive.
Admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction and ability to work from the Charlotte office.
