Leading international law firm seeks a senior lateral partner to join its Toronto transactional commercial real estate team. The role focuses on large, complex commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, financings and related transactional work) and will sit within a broad national and global platform.

This is a partner-level hire intended to bring a portable transactional practice that will be partially self-generating while benefiting from firm-wide resources and cross-border capabilities. The team is not looking for leasing, condominium file work, or pure development-only practices.

The firm offers a holistic, merit-based compensation model (non-lockstep), with a confirmed transition package including a two-year compensation guarantee and phased grandfathering of existing client rates where applicable.

Senior partner profile with substantial transactional commercial real estate experience (15+ years)
Proven record on large acquisitions, dispositions and financings — deep transactional focus; NOT leasing or condo-only work
Environmental due diligence experience is a strong plus
Partial portable book of business required — candidate should be able to bring client relationships that will leverage a national/global platform
Background at national or large regional firms preferred; strong client development and cross‑border collaboration skills
