Well-established national law firm is seeking a lateral Tax partner to join its Chicago office. The role will involve leading client engagements, developing and expanding a tax practice, and working across transactional and advisory matters.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team advising corporates, private equity sponsors, and other sophisticated clients on federal, state and international tax issues. The position offers a platform to build a portable practice and collaborate with cross‑practice colleagues on complex deals and planning.

Seasoned tax lawyer with partner-level experience in corporate, transactional, or tax controversy work
Proven record of originating or growing client relationships; ability to develop a portable practice welcomed
Strong technical tax skills and experience advising on federal, state, and international tax matters
Bar admission in Illinois or eligibility to be admitted
Excellent business development, client service, and team leadership abilities
