2-month, full-time (hybrid) Legal Consultant role based in Melbourne, supporting a major financial‑services organisation through transactional, regulatory and restructuring matters. The role sits within a flexible legal‑resourcing team that supplies experienced lawyers to internal business stakeholders and external teams on short-term engagements.

The role will focus on corporate lending, complex finance structures, secondary debt trading and insolvency/restructuring implementation. You will provide practical, commercially minded legal and regulatory advice, manage external advisers when required, and work autonomously to deliver timely solutions.

Ideal for an experienced banking & finance lawyer seeking project-based, high‑impact work within a structured consultancy/resourcing model. The position requires immediate availability and the ability to integrate quickly with business teams.

Minimum 7 years' post‑qualification experience in banking & finance law
Proven transactional experience with corporate lending, complex finance structures, secondary debt trading and insolvency/restructuring processes
Strong knowledge of financial‑services regulatory issues and ability to identify/manage regulatory and commercial risk
Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and communication skills; able to work autonomously and hit the ground running
Current practising certificate and right to live and work in Australia
