Short-term (3–6 month) full-time hybrid contract supporting a large financial services organisation in Sydney. The role provides hands-on legal and compliance support within the business, with responsibility for breach assessment, investigations and embedding compliance controls into day-to-day operations.

You'll work with business stakeholders to provide subject-matter expertise on regulatory obligations, compliance frameworks, policies and governance processes. The role suits a practical, commercial lawyer who can translate regulatory requirements into workable business processes.

  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in financial services, regulatory, compliance or risk roles (private practice or in-house)
  • Experience supporting or enhancing compliance programs, including breach assessment/investigation work
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, policies, controls and governance; practical approach to embedding requirements in business processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to act as a compliance SME to business teams
  • Current Australian practising certificate and right to live and work in Australia
