Short-term interim role for an experienced competition lawyer to support high‑profile antitrust work across the United Arab Emirates. Assignments are typically six months (full‑time in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with some flexible arrangements) and involve working directly with in‑house teams and practice groups on regional matters.

Typical responsibilities include designing and implementing antitrust compliance and risk‑management frameworks, managing complex merger‑control filings across multiple jurisdictions, and leading responses to regulatory investigations. Opportunities span sectors such as energy/renewables, construction, financial institutions, payments and fintech, and involve tracking developments in foreign subsidies and FDI regimes.

The role suits lawyers who want a consultant model with access to firm resources, training and networks while delivering hands‑on, strategic competition advice for major regional clients.

  • Minimum 5 years' post‑qualification experience in competition/antitrust law at a top‑tier practice.
  • Proven experience on merger control filings, antitrust compliance programmes and regulatory investigations.
  • Preferably recent in‑house competition experience and/or prior work on financial institutions, energy or fintech matters.
  • Experience in the Middle East and Arabic language skills are advantageous.
  • Professional practising certificate or equivalent entitlement to practise in the region.
  • Consultant mindset: adaptable, commercially aware and able to work autonomously on interim assignments.
