Apply in confidence →Short-term consulting roles for experienced derivatives lawyers to support financial services clients in the United Arab Emirates. Assignments are typically six months, often based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with some opportunities for flexible working.
The work covers a broad range of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives and structured products across interest rate, credit, equity, commodity and Islamic finance products. Core responsibilities include negotiating and drafting ISDA/credit support documentation and advising front-office, risk and portfolio teams on transactional and regulatory issues.
These assignments suit commercially minded common-law qualified lawyers with solid derivatives experience and familiarity with regional regulatory regimes.
- Common-law qualification (admission to practice)
- Approximately 6+ years post-qualification experience, ideally with derivatives focus
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs and related documentation
- Experience across multiple asset classes (interest rate, credit, equity, commodity, Islamic finance) and structured products
- Knowledge of derivatives regulatory frameworks (for example EMIR and relevant UAE/regional regimes)
- Arabic language skills desirable but not essential
