Contract opportunity (12 months, full time, hybrid) to join the legal team of a major media & entertainment organisation in Sydney. This role sits across commercial, technology and privacy matters and will suit a pragmatic commercial lawyer who can partner with product, marketing and technology teams.

The role involves drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements (technology, software/SaaS, licensing, procurement and services), advising on privacy and data governance matters, and providing practical guidance on advertising, marketing and regulatory requirements.

Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house commercial/technology roles
Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology, software/SaaS, licensing and services contracts
Practical knowledge of privacy and data protection law, data governance and breach/incident response (Privacy Act experience preferred)
Experience advising on advertising/marketing regulatory issues and conducting legal risk assessments
Strong stakeholder management and clear, pragmatic written and verbal communication skills
Current Australian practising certificate and right to live and work in Australia
