Short-term, full-time (hybrid) legal consultant role supporting a major education organisation in Melbourne. The engagement is approximately two months and will focus on transactional property work and land‑use matters related to public assets.

The role involves drafting, negotiating and advising on leases, licences, easements and other property agreements; supporting property development and acquisition work; and providing pragmatic legal advice to non-legal stakeholders across project and operational teams.

  • Minimum 5 years' transactional real estate experience (private practice or in-house)
  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases, licences, easements and related property agreements
  • Experience advising on land use, public infrastructure, government‑owned land, and property development matters
  • Familiarity with land title issues, compulsory acquisition, native title and cultural heritage considerations
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal teams
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or mentor junior lawyers and manage multiple matters
  • Current Australian practising certificate and right to work in Australia
