Leading international law firm seeks a mid‑level associate to join a busy Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity team in Washington, D.C. The role will advise clients across industries on privacy and security regulatory matters, incident response, preparedness, and compliance program enhancements.

The associate will handle cybersecurity incident response support and regulatory interaction, help develop incident playbooks and preparedness exercises, perform privacy/security assessments, and support counseling on cross‑border data flows and technology matters. The position requires managing discrete workstreams, participating in client calls, and producing client‑ready deliverables appropriate to a mid‑level lawyer.

  • 2–4 years' experience in privacy, cybersecurity, incident response, technology regulatory counseling, or related practice (law firm, in‑house, or government).
  • Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills; ability to produce clear client‑ready work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity incident response, breach notifications, or regulatory inquiries preferred.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF), vendor/third‑party risk practices, and cross‑border data transfer issues a plus.
  • Membership in or eligibility for the D.C. Bar.
