Partner, Corporate (M&A) — Tokyo

Established global law firm is seeking a partner to join its Tokyo corporate team focusing on cross-border M&A. The role will sit on a team that advises international and domestic clients on strategic transactions, with a particular emphasis on matters involving the US market.

The successful candidate will take a leadership role on mandates, develop client relationships and work collaboratively across offices in the region. This is a high-profile position within a major international platform.

• Proven partner-level M&A experience in Japan, with substantial cross-border transaction work.
• Demonstrable portable client relationships or an existing book of business relevant to transactional work (US-market focus desirable).
• Strong commercial judgment, client development skills and ability to work across a multi-office international team.
• Fluency in English; Japanese language skills preferred.
