Seeking a partner to join a national Employment & Labor practice based in Sacramento, focusing on employee benefits matters with an emphasis on ESOPs. The role combines client counseling, transaction work, and regulatory compliance across a diversified benefits practice.

This position sits within a collaborative platform supporting multi-office work and cross-practice referrals. The team advises employers, plan sponsors, and trustees on ESOP design and implementation as well as broader retirement and welfare benefit issues.

The firm is looking for a senior lateral who can contribute substantive technical expertise and help grow the benefits practice in the region through client relationships and origination.

Partner-level experience in employee benefits law with demonstrable ESOP work.
Strong technical knowledge of ERISA, tax aspects of retirement plans, and benefits compliance.
Proven business development skills and willingness to develop a portable practice or expand existing client relationships.
Active California bar admission (or eligibility) and experience working with employer-side clients.
