Established global law firm is seeking a partner to join its Portland office to lead and grow a transactional and regulatory energy practice. The role focuses on energy and renewable project work, energy tax matters, maritime-related construction projects, and regulatory matters tied to natural gas and energy infrastructure.

The successful candidate will advise clients across the project lifecycle, handle cross-disciplinary matters that touch tax and construction issues, and work with local and national teams on complex, multijurisdictional engagements. This is a visible partner role with opportunities to develop client relationships and originate work.

  • Partner-level transactional experience in energy, renewable projects, infrastructure, or related maritime/construction matters.
  • Experience with energy regulatory matters and energy tax issues; comfort working on cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven client-development skills; a portable practice or demonstrable book of business is preferred.
  • Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction and ability to work from the Portland office.
