Leading national law firm is seeking a partner to join its Palo Alto office to lead and expand a cross-disciplinary energy practice. The role focuses on renewable energy projects, energy regulatory matters, and related tax structuring, with frequent intersections with maritime and construction work.

The successful candidate will advise project developers, sponsors and contractors on project development, regulatory compliance and transactional structuring. Expect a mix of deal work, regulatory filings and negotiated construction and supply agreements.

This is a partner-level hire. A portable practice or demonstrable client relationships in energy, renewables or related tax work will be important for consideration.

Partner-level experience in energy and energy tax, ideally with renewable energy and project development exposure.
Proven track record on transactional, regulatory and construction-related matters.
Strong client relationships and ability to originate business; portable book of business preferred.
Bar admission in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction and ability to work from the Palo Alto office.
