Opportunity for an experienced partner to join a leading international law firm’s Toronto office to lead and grow a FinTech/cryptocurrency securities practice. This is an opportunistic hire: the office is open to strong lateral partners rather than running an active wide-scale search.

The role suits partners with an established, portable practice in FinTech/cryptocurrency securities who can drive business and, ideally, bring one or two junior lawyers to provide immediate fee-earner support. The office is single-location (Toronto) and expects the partner to build and service Canadian and cross-border mandates.

Entry can be on an income/national partner basis or, for candidates with a substantial portable book, on an equity partner track. The firm evaluates equity entry by the strength of the portable practice and longer-term performance.

Proven partner-level experience in securities regulation and FinTech/cryptocurrency matters
Portable practice / demonstrable book of business suitable for a lateral partner role
Ability or willingness to bring immediate associate support (1–2 junior lawyers) is highly desirable
Admission to practise in Ontario (or eligibility) and experience on Canadian and cross-border transactions
