Patent Agent / Patent Associate — Intellectual Property, Austin

Mid-level patent agent/associate role in a national IP practice with a strong local Austin presence and access to a broader U.S. and international platform. The team handles a variety of patent prosecution and portfolio development matters for clients across industries.

The position focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, counseling on portfolio strategy, and working directly with clients and technical teams. The role offers exposure to complex software and computer‑tech matters, including AI/ML, web and fintech applications, telecommunications, and integrated circuits.

• 3+ years of focused patent prosecution experience (patent drafting and office action responses) — software/computer arts experience required.
• Active registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical background; advanced degrees preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical skills, and comfort working directly with clients and technical contributors.
