Patent Partner — Intellectual Property & Litigation

Established U.S. law firm is seeking a lateral partner to lead and grow a patent practice within its intellectual property and litigation teams. The role emphasizes origination and business development: the firm wants a partner who can bring a portable practice and maintain an active book of work, while also being available for some firm service matters.

The position will involve overseeing patent prosecution matters, coordinating with litigation colleagues where relevant, and mentoring junior attorneys. The hiring team values a partner with a demonstrable track record of client development, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to operate across prosecution and contentious IP work.

• Established patent practice with a record of originating business and sustained client relationships
• Extensive experience in patent prosecution; familiarity with coordinating with IP litigation teams
• Strong business development, client-management and mentoring skills
• Admissions and technical credentials appropriate for patent work (e.g., patent bar or equivalent)
