Apply in confidence →Senior privacy lawyer role based in one of the firm's European offices (London, Brussels or Paris) within the Office of General Counsel. You will support the development, implementation and ongoing operation of a global privacy programme covering EU/UK, US and other international privacy laws.
The role will work closely with compliance, information security, IT and business stakeholders to deliver privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, incident response, vendor reviews, data processing agreements and privacy training. The post will act as a primary privacy adviser and may serve as the firm’s DPO or statutory privacy officer where required.
Ideal for a pragmatic, client-facing lawyer with hands-on experience managing cross-border data protection issues in a global organisation and advising on operational privacy matters, including the deployment of new technologies and generative AI.
- Qualified lawyer with a valid licence to practise and a minimum of six years' relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of EU/UK GDPR and experience or aptitude to advise on US and other international privacy laws.
- Experience drafting and negotiating data processing/transfer agreements, conducting DPIAs/PRAs, and managing data subject access and breach response processes.
- Proven ability to liaise with regulators and manage privacy-related vendor/third-party reviews; experience in a global law firm or professional services/regulated business preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management, training and communication skills; certifications such as CIPP/CIPT or equivalent preferred.
