Senior Associate, Construction — London

Senior associate role in a busy construction practice based in London, joining a national real estate and construction team that handles predominantly non-contentious work with some contentious matters. The team advises developers, occupiers, contractors, consultants and lenders across fit-outs, major developments, procurement and related disputes.

The role offers early client contact and responsibility for drafting and negotiating building contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), consultant appointments, collateral warranties, novations and commercial fit-out agreements, as well as involvement in adjudications and other dispute forums. You will work closely with real estate colleagues on development and transaction-related construction issues.

There is an emphasis on commercial, client-facing delivery, development of business development skills, and regular collaboration across multiple offices, so travel to other UK offices is expected.

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years' post-qualification construction experience (non-contentious focus with some disputes).
• Proven drafting and negotiation skills on building contracts, warranties, consultant appointments and novations.
• Strong commercial judgment, attention to detail and client-facing ability.
• Ambitious, proactive team player with an interest in business development and cross-office collaboration.
