Senior Associate / Legal Director — Catastrophic Injury

A leading international insurance defence practice is hiring a Senior Associate / Legal Director to join its growing catastrophic injury team. The role is open to candidates based in the UK with hybrid working available from offices in multiple locations. You will lead and manage complex, high‑value catastrophic injury matters across motor, employer's liability and public liability work.

The post involves ownership of sensitive, life‑changing claims that often attract national attention, shaping case strategy, mentoring junior lawyers and delivering high‑quality client service to insurer clients. The team is nationally recognised for its technical strength in catastrophic injury and routinely handles cross‑border and high‑profile matters.

The practice emphasises pragmatic, commercially focused advice and uses in‑house research and technological tools to improve efficiency and case outcomes. This is a good opportunity for a senior defendant lawyer who wants to work on leading catastrophic injury cases within a supportive, specialist team.

• 8+ years' experience in catastrophic injury/serious injury defence work.
• Proven defendant claims experience across motor, employer's liability and/or public liability matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of Ogden tables and assessment of future losses.
• Experience working on large, high‑value cases within a team and mentoring junior lawyers; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
