Senior-level associate role in a national private wealth practice based in Austin. The team advises high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate, trust and wealth-transfer planning, estate and trust administration, and related tax issues. Work is hands-on and collaborates across offices to serve complex, multijurisdictional matters.

The position offers responsibility for drafting advanced estate planning documents, managing trust and estate administrations (including decantings, mergers and terminations), and advising on planning involving business interests, real estate and valuation issues. The group values clear writing, technical tax knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior team members.

  • 4–8 years of trust & estates/estate planning experience in a law firm setting
  • Experience drafting complex instruments (revocable trusts, ILITs, SLATs, IDGTs, GRATs) and advising on wealth-transfer strategies
  • Practice experience with trust & estate administration, decantings, nonjudicial settlement agreements and related litigation exposure
  • Strong research, writing and communication skills; ability to supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals
  • In good standing with the Texas Bar or eligible for admission; LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred but not required
