Join a large, specialist clinical risk team handling defendant clinical negligence and professional liability matters. The role offers a varied caseload acting for public healthcare bodies, trusts and medical indemnity insurers, with opportunities to draft pleadings and witness statements, lead negotiations and represent clients at mediation.

The successful candidate will be based in the Manchester office and will work closely with clients to deliver commercially focused advice while following client protocols and KPIs. The role includes supervision of junior fee‑earners, contribution to knowledge sharing and business development, and responsibility for file and billing management.

Qualified solicitor with experience in defendant clinical negligence; candidates with defendant personal injury or claimant clinical negligence experience will also be considered
Familiarity with public healthcare systems and the ability to work to client protocols and performance measures
Strong technical and case‑management skills, with experience using legal case management systems
Client‑focused commercial approach, confident communicator and relationship builder
Proven ability to supervise and coach junior fee‑earners and contribute to business development
