Apply in confidence →We are seeking an Asset Finance Associate to join a major international firm’s Debt Finance group in New York. The role focuses on cross-border asset finance matters covering aviation, shipping, rail and other movable high‑value assets, including secured lending, operating and finance leases, sale‑and‑leaseback, export credit and structured financings.
The team handles structuring, documentation, security and enforcement, closings, portfolio acquisitions and disposals, and restructurings for lenders, lessors, financiers, manufacturers and investors on complex, cross-border transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong transaction experience in aviation and other transportation finance who enjoys collaborative, multi-jurisdictional work.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school, or foreign law degree plus U.S. LL.M.
- Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility to waive into NY).
- Preferred class years: 2017–2021.
- Meaningful experience advising lenders, lessors, underwriters or sponsors on cross‑border asset finance transactions.
- Substantial experience in aviation and other transportation finance (aircraft and high‑value equipment financings).
- Experience across transaction types: operating and finance leases, secured lending, leveraged leasing, portfolio acquisitions/dispositions, restructurings, and asset‑backed/structured finance.
- Familiarity with ECA‑supported financings, ABS and other complex financing structures; strong drafting, negotiation and project‑management skills.
- Ability to work effectively on team‑based, cross‑border matters and a strong client service orientation; prior experience at a major international or large U.S. law firm preferred.
