Associate | Complex Liabilities, Insurance and Regulation

Our insurance and complex disputes practice acts for corporates, insurers, and government self-insurers at state and federal levels, advising on complex insurance and regulatory compliance issues and managing significant insurance disputes, both litigated and non-litigated.

We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Complex Liabilities, Insurance and Regulation (CLIR) team in Sydney. In this role, you will handle a range of civil litigation and insurance advisory matters, managing a caseload of insurance litigation in local courts and assisting with other civil disputes. You will also help provide strategic advice to insurers, private clients, and government clients on insurance and dispute issues. The role may involve solicitor advocacy and briefing and instructing counsel on complex matters.

• 3+ years' experience in private practice at a leading firm
• Strong civil litigation experience, including acting for a range of insurers (government insurers, corporate self-insurers, general insurers, and reinsurers), private corporate clients, and government clients
• A strong client focus and proven ability to build lasting relationships with peers, clients, and the industry
• Willingness to help grow the practice and build new client relationships
• Experience appearing as a solicitor advocate, instructing counsel, and attending settlement conferences
• Strong technical and drafting skills
