Join a busy Construction & Engineering team in Bristol that acts for developers, funders and public-sector bodies on infrastructure, residential development and projects work. The team has a strong pipeline of non-contentious mandates across transport, flood defence and healthcare projects and is focused on growing its infrastructure practice.

The role offers hands-on experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex construction and engineering contracts (including NEC4-based frameworks, consultant appointments and bespoke agreements), client interaction, and opportunities to manage and develop client relationships. There is clear support for progression, with mentoring from experienced senior lawyers and scope to take responsibility for your own caseload.

  • Experience in construction contracts preferred; candidates with commercial contracts or projects experience and an interest in infrastructure will be considered.
  • Strong academic record and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator with the ability to run or attend client meetings.
  • Ability to manage your own caseload, supervise paralegals and contribute to fee/tender proposals.
  • Organised, self-motivated team player able to work to deadlines and develop client relationships.
