Apply in confidence →Senior in-house counsel role supporting the Office of General Counsel for a leading international law firm. The role is open to candidates in any U.S. office or fully remote within the U.S. and reports to the Deputy General Counsel.
Primary responsibilities include advising on complex conflicts and professional responsibility issues, developing and administering firm-wide risk management policies and training, managing client engagement and waiver templates, and supporting responses to client due diligence, auditor and insurance inquiries. The role will also assist with strategic risk projects and global audit processes tied to malpractice insurance renewal.
Ideal for a collaborative, practical lawyer with law firm and/or in-house experience who can counsel partners and business teams on ethical, conflicts and intake matters and help operationalize risk controls.
- Juris Doctorate and active admission to a U.S. bar in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years of law firm experience; experience in an Office of General Counsel preferred
- Demonstrated experience applying rules of professional responsibility, conflicts counseling, and waiver negotiation
- Strong drafting, training and project-management skills; excellent interpersonal and counseling abilities
- Comfort with varied hours, occasional travel, and working across multiple time zones; interest in law firm use of AI tools is a plus
