Apply in confidence →Top-tier international law firm seeks an Associate General Counsel to be based in any U.S. office (100% remote U.S. candidates will be considered). The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and will be a core member of the Office of General Counsel supporting firm-wide risk management, ethics, conflicts and client intake processes.
Key responsibilities include drafting and administering risk management policies and training, advising on conflicts and engagement terms, supporting claims prevention and responses to subpoenas, and handling client due diligence and RFP responses. The role will also counsel on evolving professional responsibility issues (including use of AI), prepare secondment and local‑counsel agreements, and support annual audit and special projects.
This is a collaborative, advisory role that requires strong judgment, clear communication with partners and business teams, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across time zones. Some travel is required.
- Juris Doctor and current active admission to a U.S. bar.
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years’ law firm experience.
- Experience applying rules of professional conduct and law firm risk/conflicts processes; prior experience in a law firm GC office preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong analytical and organizational skills, and high ethical standards and discretion.
- Willingness to work varied hours to cover multiple time zones and to travel as needed.
