Leading international practice seeks a 3rd–4th year associate to join its National Security & Global Trade team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, CFIUS and related national security issues in cross‑border corporate and finance matters.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with corporate, private equity, finance, government investigations, and regulatory colleagues on complex transactional and compliance matters for multinational clients. This is a practice‑oriented role with opportunities to support diligence, regulatory filings, compliance program drafting, and government engagement.

  • JD from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility) to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3–4 years' relevant law firm or in‑house experience advising on sanctions, export controls, CFIUS, or national security matters
  • Experience supporting cross‑border M&A, private equity, financings or other transactions involving trade/national security diligence preferred
  • Strong drafting, analytical, research and communication skills; ability to manage multiple matters and work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
