A national insurance team is seeking an experienced associate to join its Professional and Commercial Risk group in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role focuses on advising insurers on coverage under financial lines policies, with particular emphasis on Directors' & Officers' (D&O) insurance and related professional indemnity matters.

You will handle a varied D&O and coverage caseload, engage regularly with leading insurer clients, and work closely with specialists across employment, white‑collar crime and other teams. The role offers client contact, technical development and opportunities to support the team’s growth.

Minimum 3 years' PQE in insurance/more specialist practice or in‑house at a financial lines insurer
Practical experience advising on coverage under financial lines policies, ideally including D&O/management liability
Strong client relationship and file‑management skills; able to produce clear, well‑written legal advice and reports
Commercial, client‑focused approach and ability to learn quickly on complex coverage issues
Team‑oriented and change‑friendly with willingness to support business development and internal initiatives
Secondment experience with a financial lines insurer would be beneficial
